Best way of getting Rid of Termites!
Is there a best method really? Can we use one medicine to cure all diseases? The answer is, hell No! Some Dodgy pest controllers or companies come up with a product like Electronic Insect repellent devices and claim that your problem is solved. They make quick easy cash while giving you a false sense of security. I have treated many homes for termites over the years and I came across quite a few of those electronic devices. The owners were horrified to discover termites eating timber walls next to those devices. So where do we go from here?
Step one: Well, know your termites! It is not as difficult as you think!
They are after what we are after! Well almost! They want their food and they want their water. In the case of subterranean termites, only the queen and the king (and later on prince and princesses) are after 53X!
Thank god for that otherwise we would have termite eggs everywhere in the house like cockroach eggs!
So the point is that you need to know your enemy very well before you decide how to defeat them. If termites survive on food and water why not stop them from accessing them?
Go around (and under) your home and find their source of water and get rid of it! A leaking tap, broken guttering, bad drainage, leaking rainwater tank, and get rid of your favorite plant next to your property wall? Why is that?? To reduce the moisture of course.
Step two: don’t let them have any access to your timber. I know a few very rich businessmen who drive a bum and wear old ugly clothes to hide their wealth and it works!
I always find myself paying for their coffee!
They always get the best deal out of everyone as people think they can’t afford the full price.
My point is that if you get rid of lying timber around your property, termites think you can’t feed them and they go to your neighbor and eat there!
Great, go around and under your property and collect any loose timber that has the earth contact.
If you have some dead trees in your property, take them out and move them the hell out of your property!
If you have an untreated timber fence, think about replacing that with a color-bond fence. Paint it green if you don’t like a metal fence. Remember termites hate metal fence. But they like heavy metal music! No joke, research shows that termites eat twice as fast while listening to heavy metal music!
